The SkiFree yeti cannot be stopped. You might be able to glitch him for a while, but eventually, he’ll get you.

Can’t remember if it was from SkiFree or MacSki, but I liked to crash a bunch so the St. Bernard came by to revive you with his keg.
As a seasoned SkiFree player, that’s definitely MacSki thing. There are no sprites for St. Bernard in the game.
The keg was full of Monster Energy for those mad gamer strats
…can’t you hold F to outspeed the yeti or did xkcd lie to me?
You can hold F to speed up, but if you don’t travel at least 2000m away from the yeti’s original spawn, you won’t outrun them.
Also, speeding up WITH F might result in hitting trees you didn’t notice..
Okay… For yetis, what would be his stance for the cooler brand name and the possible name of that Utah hockey team (NHL)?
Ski Free Yeti is a legendary antagonist indeed!
I like all these little implications of Rick being cold-blooded. It’s n’ice attention to detail and a cool concept. Being unable to stay awake without heat sounds chilling. Though once you’re prepared, it snow big deal anymore. But being caught off guard, I’m freezing up just thinking about it.
..Yeah I’ll see myself out the door~
Just occurred to me, paw warmer packs shouldn’t be the only option in this universe. I’m sure there would be heating coats for ectothermal folk like lizards, perhaps gloves and hats and shoes lined with form-fitted gel packs you can heat up somewhere before going out. I see a thriving future for a market of, say, winterwear with power adapters that you can plug in while at home or at work, and wear comfortably each time you go outside. Of course the circuits would need to be properly insulated, with measures to prevent excessive heating, and the clothes themselves made of fire-resistant material. Otherwise it would lead to accidents that’re funny to watch but not so entertaining for the wearer…
Oh, and also better insulation in clothes in general. That won’t provide heat, but will prevent heat loss.
“Well, with you and Kade around, I wasn’t sure if mountains were still a requirement.” 😉
I love Rick. he is a good lizzo. and Agreed. Avoid winter. dun like
Who would fail first in Vintage Story and why would it be Kade?
“Kade gotta do, what Kade gotta do.” Possibly with a ‘helpful’ nudge from Nicole. 😉
All I remember from playing SkiFree was getting eaten. xD
I’m a lil surprised Rick doesn’t have some kind of special paw boots for the snow.
Paw-Warmer(tm) socks with leather soles, so they can stretch and shift to fit varying foot shapes and sizes? 🙂
Perhaps. Prolly would just need two varieties. One for the felines / canines and one for the lizards.
The shape wouldn’t vary but I figure the ones with scales would need more insulation whereas the ones with fur prolly would just need something to keep the snow off their paws. We do have lil booties for dogs that spend a lot of time in the snow after all.
Am not sure if it would make sense for the ones with hooves though.
>>”Am not sure if it would make sense for the ones with hooves though.”
Stylin’! 😉 Also; hooves can easily slip on ice; so, some kind of treaded shoe? I’m assuming sentient equines would wear something other than nailed-on steel horseshoes. 🙂 Although I suppose they could be using some kind of removable glue-on tread-plates in winter?
And then there are the deer, goats, and such…
Hmm yeah they probably could have some kind of temporary tread. The reindeer lile their neighbor Amber have lil dewclaw style hooves on the back that stick down, so it might complicate something that slips over the full paw. But if it just slipped over the front hooves it would probably work like a lil treaded shoe.
well that’s morbid…
Nicole looks pretty cute in panel five.
