My childhood experience with the GBA consisted of long car rides at night using the little dinky light attachment to try and see the screen. Haven’t played Boktai or Four Swords though.
I’ve wanted this game for years, but now it keeps going up in price. It was like a $25 game back when I first wanted it and now it’s over $200. I regret not getting it back then. At this point it’s more worth it to just learn Japanese fully and buy the Japanese copy for around $50. I’ve been practicing Japanese for a while anyways. It’s a really cool concept, and I’d love to play it, but the only way to play it without an original copy removes the solar sensor gimmick entirely.
This is bringing out my Da Vinci mode…”let’s build something cool!” There’s a company called Adafruit (look it up yourself, I’m not going to spam anyone’s comment board) that sources and produces all kinds of cool sensors and STEM learning kits. Kade could build a mod sensor system using some sensor modules for light/spectrum, temperature, air quality, humidity, etc. and write the code to connect it with the Switch.
He might even be able to get the proper API and dev kit from Nintendo.
I actually have a prototype of the “smartbadge,” a re-usable con-badge that can hold a con-goers authentication code and serve as as a scratchpad notebook, art conbadge display, etc.. (Now, to be safe, attendees must carry the paper badge with the QR code in the event of hardware failure). I’ve already tested the hardware, I just need to write the unified code and establish a standards set. But, the final version will be lighter and smaller than a smartphone and reusable…cosplayers will love it.
Yay Boktai! My favorite unappreciated franchise!
We both literally posted at the same time. 🤣🤣🤣.
At least it’s listed as the same time for me. Oo.
7:31 pm.

The SP with its backlit screen seemed like a magical innovation at the time XD
Oh yeah, when Konami had creative people making great games… before the dark times…

So much problems with the sun , for Kade …… I begin to think one of his ancestors was a vampire ^_^”
I am so amused at the idea of a Vampire Hunter with solar-powered weapons. 🙂
Solar Powered Weapons = UV Ray Guns!
I remember there was a DS version with a day night cycle if made now would probs be that again

Why am I not surprised that this was a Hideo Kojima game ?
