yes monopoly is a scary game… if you’re short on cash, the first game i played in years and i literally wiped the floor with a $3k lead and my friend just gave up, scary AND funny
Love Risk! I’ve played games lasting 4 days, and we cycled through the cards so many times we added quarters to the game to represent 25 armies. We had over $7 in change on the board when we started the final battle sequences.
4 hours? It only took my family about 2. but then, my mom and sister don’t usually play very intently. so its usually me against my dad, who usually wins.
I love monopoly, specifically Nascar Monopoly, as it is the only one where I have a chance of beating my dad.. and also cause it’s the only one where you have a chance of winning even if you have the least amount of cash thanks to the team cards.
– Rick and Kade are straight , as all the characters of this comic
– Tim has said there will never be such relationship in the comic : never go deeper than friends
I would like to scritch Kade’s chest floof… is that weird? :p
Also I feel like this whole “shipping” thing was just a joke and got taken a little too seriously.
Aaa monopoly the one bored game I managed to formulate a decent strategy in and now no one will play with me without making rules that stop me from using my strategy. Fun game 10/10
Basically in the first few turns I mortgage any property I get right away this keeps other players from getting them but keeps your money high enough to buy more sooner. I would normally end up buying every property and out bid everyone that ran out of money after buying there first few. Because its early in the game your not going to make much from people landing on your spaces so its better to have the money on hand then sit around and wait for it to come to you. You do need to pay them off again but by that point you already own a large chunk of the bored and may even have a lot of trading power depending on the players. The rules where changed so that a player can buy another players mortgaged property for half of the original price. This made it way to risky to play like I normally did but this rule has back fired on them and allowed me to still take advantage of it a few times. It’s really simple but it works for me 90% of the time.
I think Dane Cook put it best when he said every game of Monopoly ended the exact same way. With someone flipping the board and shouting “F*** THIS GAME!”
And would the original Metroid II count? I played that game so much I started having nightmares about till I got genuinely scared to play it IRL.
I was wondering the big fuzz everyone made about Monopoly so I was doing research a couple days ago. All this time, I didn’t know I was playing with house rules.
Nightmare was the greatest boardgames from my childhood. Loved the GateKeeper and turning the lights out and loud volume and scaring people into believing the Gatekeeper haunted the television :3
The reason why monopoly is so infuriating and turns people against each other is that it was made as a critique of capitalism by Elizabeth Maige rather than as an actual game.
Someone called Quaker Adams simple modified the game then sold it to Parker Bros as his own work.
monopoly is supposed to show what the free market and competition does to people, and it does it fairly accurately
Funny thing is monopoly isn’t actually a board game. It was a college thought experiment made by students to explain the failings of capitalism over time. Turn 1 everyone is equal but turn 30, the little guys are praying to stay off the spaces of people who will eat them up and **** them out with no remorse.
Scary board game? How about Ouija? Then again, it’d probably be anticlimactic.
Kade: “Spirits from the beyond, please give us a sign…”
Planchette (spelling out letters on the board): “F-O-R-C-R-Y-I-N-G-O-U-T-L-O-U-D-I-A-M-A-L-R-E-A-D-Y-H-E-R-E”
Kade: “Harvey, get off the line!”
Why did he call Harvey it that seems kinda rude
What else would you really call Harvey
I mean “The apocalypse ghost” is a bit too long
even ‘he’ is a stretch we don’t even know its gender.
Harvey is genderless, if you look back they always refer to Harvey with gender neutral terms.
Hahaha I totally agree, Monopoly IS the scariest game in history. XD
oh really, what about…Tetris!
Check out firstpersonTetris.com
Why did u do this to me. I am super lucky I’m not motion sick. I want to spam the rotate button for some reason.
One word: Pong.
That face when she mentioned Monopoly. Priceless. It might be worth it to play it for that reason. Actually, no it’s not.
He got so scared he actually dropped a brand new game cartridge. That is a whole new level of fear for Kade.
Riley knows him all too well.
The scariest game of them all…
yes monopoly is a scary game… if you’re short on cash, the first game i played in years and i literally wiped the floor with a $3k lead and my friend just gave up, scary AND funny
Riley had the choice to speak about “risk” ^_^”
Don’t get an heart attack , Kade : it was just a joke pre-halloween XD

Has anybody finished a Monopoly game following all the rules, with NO modification? =X_X=
Actually yes, I have. 4 of us played. It took like 7 or 8 hours with breaks. Never again. *Shudder*
4 hours? It only took my family about 2. but then, my mom and sister don’t usually play very intently. so its usually me against my dad, who usually wins.
IT TOOK 3 DAYS

Good to see Riley again
Kade x Riley shippers unite!
Might I raise you……. Kade x Rick
No.
Yes!
No.
You can stop it now for two reasons :
– Rick and Kade are straight , as all the characters of this comic
– Tim has said there will never be such relationship in the comic : never go deeper than friends
Ever heard of head canon
You want to blow Riley or Kade’s head ? 0_o
I want to scratch Riley’s ears… they’re so fluffy. But I don’t tend to do head canon.
I bet a lot of peoples wants to do it to Riley , too ; and same for Nicole ^_^
I would like to scritch Kade’s chest floof… is that weird? :p
Also I feel like this whole “shipping” thing was just a joke and got taken a little too seriously.
Where you guys come up with shipping? I just said it’s good to see Riley the character again.
Huh, they’re actually gonna have a party. This should be good, with Harvey trying to raise the dead and all xD
How many people know about Harvey and ness
Additionally how many people do kade and Nicole know
Aaa monopoly the one bored game I managed to formulate a decent strategy in and now no one will play with me without making rules that stop me from using my strategy. Fun game 10/10
I am morbidly curious, what is your strategy? If it requires house rules to counter, it must be good.

Great. Now you make me want someone to invite me to a Monopoly night. 😉
You, sir, are evil. I like you.

Does Kade had a spooky board game moment due to a furry equivalent of Board James? O_O

y’all oughta try playing The Mad Magazine board game

Monopoly is a great family game! <3
Nightmare was the greatest boardgames from my childhood. Loved the GateKeeper and turning the lights out and loud volume and scaring people into believing the Gatekeeper haunted the television :3

just food for thought uwu
I can only think of one thing Riley could tell Kade that could scare him worse.
Which is?
That Aliens Colonial Marines is a good game
“I don’t believe I’ve ever tried board games; are they tasty?”
(Yes I swiped that. Do you know who from? 🙂 )
*pst* Riley *pst*
There was a Monopoly game on the NES. You could totally bring a video game AND monoply!
Hahahahahaha Kade’s expressions on panels 5 and 6 are priceless. He’s so scared of Monopoly! (Don’t worry Kade, I am too)
“Don’t mess with Super Smirky Fun Riley!” 🙂
Funny thing is monopoly isn’t actually a board game. It was a college thought experiment made by students to explain the failings of capitalism over time. Look like Kade asking Riley on a date
Seeing like htis bring up a question, why haven’t we seen them KISS?!
Scary board game? How about Ouija? Then again, it’d probably be anticlimactic.

This is perfect revenge for what Nicole had to go through with being scared by Harvey
