HAL-cyon
The Halcyon had a planned release price of about $2000. Of course, that was in the 80s, so taking inflation into account and… oh, no.

Sheesh, 2000! No wonder they didn’t make it anywhere! But is there even anything that comes close to that nowadays? I mean, what console can read LaserDisc today?
Well according to google that $2,000 is $6,886.31 today? So maybe some Higher end VR set up that has like 4k screens, fullbody haptic feedback and a vr treadmill ?
I’m sorry, Dave. I’m afraid I can’t do that.
Shall We Play a Game?
I’ll be back. 😉
I miss the days where we could all hang out in front of the couch and talk about video games. Two years was so long ago…
The console shaped like Mario’s head could play a powerup noise when you put a disc in, and when you eject the disc it plays the damage noise from Mario!
No, it would play the Game Over music when the disc is ejected.
I think that should play when you turn the console off instead.
Love how laid back Kade is in this page. ^^
And I wonder why Ness put down the controller and why she’s now eyeing it with what I think is a look of concern. Oo.
What would happen if Kade had unlimited control in games and consoles?
Like hardware in the console and the games contents
Sad fate for a good console : never released . Only six games being planned , and two finished
Fifth panel: Shouldn’t it be “calling you out for using dad jokes”?
Never mind. Disregard my last post.
I think a slight rewording would help, at least with -my- interpretation of what Tim meant:
“…would start calling for you, using dad-jokes.” <<- Note the comma added after "you." Just my opinion. Wonder how close I am to Tim's real intention.. LOL
For what it’s worth, that’s the way I interpreted it, too~
The TurboGrafx-CD/CD-ROM² was the first console to use CDs released to Japan in 1988 and US in 1990. It was a addon so not sure if that counts.
The Sega CD came out in Japan in 1991, and hit American markets in ’92.
I shouldn’t post this late at night. I read your comment as it came out in 1998. Because I spoonerize when sleepy.
Riley, first panel. 🙂
And Kade’s taking this amazingly calmly.
