**** straight there’s a lot of text in those games! Ever played Xenosaga? Yeah… that game, in addition being completely AMAZING, is like the equivalent of reading one of the later Harry potter books in terms of sheer amount of dialogue and narration, almost 0% of which is voice-over.
Also, Mono Dragon, forgive me, but uh… get a grip. My younger brother has serious dyslexia issues, traditional book reading is both difficult and almost painful. Thus he does not read for pleasure. He needs text information given to him in smaller chunks, the way it’s typically presented in the JRPGs being talked about here, so understand that it’s not always a matter of not caring about picking up a book. I myself do not have my brother’s problem, and I read a lot, but I get really, really sick of hearing people say how they despair for posterity because “no one does X anymore.” Times change. Our consumption of media changes. Get over it. Games are every bit as much an art as literature, and I would argue more so because they require the talents of *all* artists, visual, musical, and written alike, and then, they must all come together with the computer scientists who make them possible… no easy task. And when they’ve finished they invite you into this world to walk around and truly see *their* vision for what they created. It’s a deeply personal and moving interaction between the player and a group of talented individuals who will almost certainly never meet. Please don’t disparage it by getting on the moral high horse of “no one reads any more, the world is ending.”
Hmmm… don’t know that still sounds off. Maybe “I DO read.” or “I do LIKE to read.”. I know that your’s is also grammatically correct, but it still feels odd to say.
Hmmm yeah that’s true. In that case the “read” is that one that should be left out and just make it “I do too!”, but it still sounds off even in that context.
Note to self: Stop writing scripts at midnight while playing Hearthstone.
It feels like cheating being able to fix these typos. Oh, well. I guess that’s one of the benefits of a webcomic.
Kade’s speech was meant to sound a little off since he’s getting flustered.
Welp part of a webcomic experience is that if the creator ANY kind of mistake the readers’ll bug him until he fixes it… or goes crazy. Same thing. š
Embarrisingly, the last computer game I played heavily for hours on end was Dungeon on a Dec PDP-11 mainframe. It was pretty heavily text based. In fact. it was completely text based.
That’s a nice strip, and the expressions are really good, but I have a concern… you should pay more attention to the shape of their butts xD
I mean, it looks a little off this way, their tails seems to be a little too high now, I don’t know exactly how to express this, english is not my main language, hehe.
Anyway, the comic is wonderful, I check it every week, keep going!
final fantasy? forget those jerks try any game from the tales series
i’ve played them all and seriously its like reading a novel. although tales games are usually fully voiced……
No child ever truly reads anymore, and now adults too? I am losing all hope for the future.
Yes they do. Games tend to have a lot of text.
I’m a teenager and I read. Lots of my friends do as well. Especially girls because John Green’s books are the equivalent of a chick flick.

tl;dr
That reminds me of Golden Sun: The Lost Age.
So much reading.
Anyway, I think you forgot a ‘g’ in that last panel.
Oh, for the love of biscuits… thanks for that catch.
I drew this one during the Destiny beta so Iām blaming all errors on Ghost.
Should be “I do too read” in the second panel too. That pesky Ghost at it again.
Hmmm… don’t know that still sounds off. Maybe “I DO read.” or “I do LIKE to read.”. I know that your’s is also grammatically correct, but it still feels odd to say.
It’s informal speech, maybe a bit childish… e.g., “Haha, you smell!” “Do not!” “Do too!” “Do not!” etc…
Hmmm yeah that’s true. In that case the “read” is that one that should be left out and just make it “I do too!”, but it still sounds off even in that context.

OH! Okay in that case it works just fine. š

lol, I just figured it was a typo; the phrasing sounds fine to me the way it is. Didn’t mean to start a huge debate, d’oh!
You cheated. The BGs in this strip are 3D-generated. =P /s
It’s a secret to everybody. {+30 rupees}
Final Fantasy is for Nerds & Weeaboos, Real Men Play Morrowind!
Embarrisingly, the last computer game I played heavily for hours on end was Dungeon on a Dec PDP-11 mainframe. It was pretty heavily text based. In fact. it was completely text based.
Yeah, but on a PDP-11 it all the text would be backwards! *rimshot* … *crickets*
