I’m imagining it as something like the Librarian from Discworld. He may be an orangutan who only says variations of “Ook”, but those who spend enough time around him get the gist of what he’s saying… somehow?
I still belive that Frankie is an imaginary granddaughter. In their world some people cant hmke and imaginary friend so maybe Madam Foster could have two. Coco and Frankie (who does not know she is imaginary and is able to grow and age).
The first Gold doubloon in the United States struck “more than 225 years ago is expected to fetch at least $5 million at auction.” (Daily Mail) In reality, the coin, known as the Brasher doubloon, went for nearly $7.4 million. This was unprecedented but speaks to the popularity of the coin, and, at the very least, the style of the coin. Gold doubloons are popular everywhere and the value can certainly be greater than the standard 1 oz Gold price.
You cant exchange any currency using actual gold anymore, so it’s worth is either based on it’s gold content, or, more likely, the finders fee the goverment in question is willing to pay for the coin since it’s considered a historical artifact. The fee may or may not be worth more than the treasure, depending on country and amount of gold
I’m thinking it’s a Leaf Coin, from the Octopath Traveler Wayfarer’s Edition. The coin is a non-magnetic metal that looks like gold, but is too light to be gold. I’m thinking brass, probably. Anyway, the size in Nicole’s paw seems about right.
It’s canon that Ness is named for the Loch Ness Monster. Nicole has had the plushy since she was a -very- small, pre-gamer, pup. 🙂 (Check the “Cast” page.)
Sooo how do they understand what Ness is saying?
Same way as Rocket understands Groot, probably telepathy.
Rocket speaks Groot. so does Thor, according to him its an elective taught in Asgarde.

Same rule applies for conversations between Coco and her friends in Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. Anybody remember that cartoon?
COCOCOCOCOCOOO! Yes i do 🙂

Gewden dubloons!
Nicole and Kade had cleaned all when they’re come to live in the mansion . So , where this gold coin comes from ?
*thinks for some Harvey’s hidden stuff*
Hmmm…. I think a new arc is coming, with some secrets about SaveState…
*playing X Files theme song*
Ness IS (sort of) a “dragon”. It came from HER hoard. 😉 🙂 🙂
We’re forced to wait the next wednes(sie)day to know about it …………
ARG , i’ll be able to hold during all a week ?
Ness obviously defeated a Cursed Sails ship and got doubloons for it, duh
That’s better than Ness standing on her head and spitting wooden nickels.
Oh, and I LOVE the dialog in the first panel.
Oh Ness…
Now I’m REALLY curious as to where ness got that. I think Dragons Hoard was an acceptable answer. All dragons have hoards.
Just roll with it, that gold will likely even cover the next thing Ness and Harvey set on fire.
Huh, hope it isn’t a cursed coin that turns humans into anima-wait, different comic.
Wonder how much of a timespan was between the second and third panels? And if they now have to deal with an angry gold collector?
Well…he did pay her back with interest…no more chores for him!
Well , that’s a total refund from Nessie. But she’s created a coming soon situation with issued explanations ^_^”
“What’s the exchange rate for pirate’s gold?”
I dunno.
What’s a piece of booty worth to the person buying it?
Pirate Dragons?
Ness killed a Viking.
Cool.
-WAIT NO, THAT’S GREEK MYTHO!

Gold Price per Ounce $1,280.15
Hope this helps.
I believe that gold coins have disappeared from America just after the independence war ……………..
Nope, the U.S. ended gold coin use during the Great Depression.
*thinks about it*
Wait a minute now. Ness must breathe in order to go “squeak”, “cough”, or “THBPBPTHPB!”.
Adept use of the squeaker? No need to breath, but still has a use for it
Depends on whether it’s cursed, that greatly influences the exchange rate. Positively or negatively depends on the buyer!

Ness’ face when she yarks up that coin is hilarious. I wonder if that coin is from The Valley of the Golden Sun?
Pirate dragon hoard! Why didn’t I think of that!? My college education is as good as paid for now!
Ness: “Okay, fine, I decided to emulate BB-8 from ‘The Last Jedi.’ There you go, and I just threw a spoiler, ARE YOU HAPPY NOW, NICOLE?!”
You are all missing the obvious, she went into a video game and brought one out. lol

I only just realized now the “official” pronunciation of “NES” is “Ness”, which then lead to the epiphany Ness is named after the system.
Nice try, and very good logic, but… 🙂

I was wonder if you could put a link on the cast page to where a main character first appears? That would be really cool!
This is a good idea, I’ll pass it along to Tim. Though, in Ness’ case it’s a bit difficult because she first appears as a soul inhabiting ROB. Hrm…
Ah, didn’t think about that. :/ Thanks for telling Tim! 🙂
Is Nicole named after the computer of the same name from the original Sonic the Hedgehog comics?
