A bit odd to see an air rifle activity at a Japanese convention considering the activities they’ve been doing relate to the said convention? I mean, not all things have to be so accurate to be culturally diversed. I think they just added the game to be lazy but who knows.
Ever since I had to see “Master Card and Lady Visa” signs everywhere at the last few ren fairs I went to, I’m not really surprised at what I see at fairs and festivals anymore. Besides, haven’t they made air rifles in Japan for about a couple hundred years now? It at least fits better than trying to add medieval flavour to modern methods of payment.
Hey Tim, what is with the way you arrange the speech bubbles? Kinda hard to follow, and this isn’t the first time I’ve noticed it.
In panel 2, both of Riley’s speech bubble parts are basically spoken together, followed by both parts of Rick’s (ignoring the “Can I try?” which is obviously first), so it goes (Rick,) Riley, Riley, Rick, Rick
In panel 3, Nicole’s speech parts are arranged the same as Riley’s in panel 2, and Riley’s arranged the same as Rick’s in panel 2. However, the order is different – it goes Nicole, Riley, Nicole, Riley.
I love this series but this is one area you could use some improvement at.
On topic: Riley can shoot? Kade should let her try VR!

I’m pretty sure it’s Nicole, Nicole, Riley, Riley and it works the same as in panel 2.
The speech bubble positioning on the last panel is a bit weird though; I think it’s supposed to be Nicole, Nicole, Rick, Riley, but the start of Riley’s bubble is so close to the end of Nicole’s, so I read it as Nicole, Nicole, Riley, Rick at first.
Dahan and Iron Ed both have it right, and I don’t see how it is confusing? When speech bubbles are connected they are read together in succession. The indent between them just means there are separate sentences but they are still read in succession. That’s just how speech bubbles work. I agree the last panel was a bit confusing because Rick’s needed to be positioned further to the right, above Riley’s to make it more clear.
Airgun or not, Riley’s muzzle control is concerning. On the other hand, I spend way too much time at the range, so I amasking alot of a fictiicious character X).
Are you totally sure about that lack of muzzle control? I think the camera angle for panel 2 is about 90 degrees clockwise of that in 1 and 3, which would mean the gun’s still pointed downrange…
This reminds me of when me and a friend of mine who was EX army went shooting, I mopped the floor with him and we joked about how I never joined up as I would’ve made a good sniper.
I did the same thing again years later with my brother at one of those shooting ranges at the fair, he that went shooting semi pro and me that didn’t (I only shoot targets as I don’t believe in killing something for fun).
Then again being long sighted helps.
I can imagine another version of it :
Rick : “- Hey , i got it”
Riley (turning back to him) : “- Good job , R ……. GAH”
Then race into the forest ^_^”

If it was a line of American POWs…
Just pretend it’s a musket. Nobunaga was fairly famous for his tactics with muskets that decimated enemy cavalry.
And here I am wondering how he got that on his face.
It’s an anthro thing ^_^”

Panel 2: Rick-Riley-Rick
Panel 3: Nicole-Riley
Panel 6: Nicole-Riley-Rick
I think you’re just trying to break it into too many bubbles. 🙂

Further to the left, I mean.
SOMEBODY GET A FLY SWATTER!
Nice to see Riley becoming a mainstay in this comic, she’s great.
I also don’t think Majora’s Mask is gonna be too scary to people who don’t know what it is.
Two ways :
Or Harvey and Nessie are frightened by Rick’s mask , or they loves it and wants one each too
XD
I want to see a flashback of Riley when she was a puppy in the kimodameshi!
I doubt that Riley will be willing to share it with someone
But i WANT to see what happens to the kimodameshi while Harvey and Nessie are in ^_^”

I panicked when I saw the mask.
What if it was with shining eyes , in a dark forest during the night ? ^_^”
