Funnily enough, just a month after this comment I discovered how to use composite on my TV, and got component cables for more game consoles. I haven’t used RF ever since, and if I have an RF console it’s connected through a VCR over composite.
If I had the games already (like he does) I would just get one of those all in one like Retron. 😀 He already owns all the games on the mini nes so… all the benefit, without the limitation!
Hit [Reset] a few times (that’s what it’s for, after all), take cartridge out, blow on it, blow inside the console, put cartridge back in, hit [Reset] a few more times, take cartridge out and swab rubbing alcohol across the contacts, put it back in, [Reset] a few more times, finally (maybe) play your game!
So the big question on my mind at this time of year is, will Riley help finish the games on Kade’s list this year? Because man did 2016 suck. Kade’ll need all the help he can get to make 2017 better.
Well, I’ve checked the archives, and I’d count this as the first hug of the comic. Bit of a surprise to see Riley being quite so bold given her previous shyness, but then it must be pretty obvious to her by now that it would take something big to break through Kade’s obliviousness
I still think the point of the NES classic is playing high res 8-bit games, it’s just a collectors item for guys like Kade. They want all the memorabilia, but they’d rather play the original cartridge in all its glory. Doesn’t mean they don’t love the memorabilia they don’t tend to play.
Remember, Kade, you’ve got to jam a piece of folded paper into the top of the cartridge holder, so that it forces the contacts into place. Otherwise, you’ll just keep getting garbled screens and the blue-black flashing.
I wish we could see Kade without his blue contact more. I love these scenes with Riley and it could be interesting if she found out behe. LOVE THIS COMIC!!
Ah, NES corruptions with incomplete contact. I remember Ikari Warriors getting corrupted in such a way that most of the game was intact, but the heroes threw Pepsi can grenades and the last level’s robots looked like walking garbage cans.

heh I use the video/audio out on my flatscreen
but I also use a audio splitter for connecting the 2 speakers
