Tim has a Merle in RL that he uses for facial references. She (the dog) even has similar colors to Nicole. You can read more in the “Cast” link.
Harvey isn’t literally invisible, Kade just unconsciously refuses to perceive his existence.
I dunno… Concussions might switch on that ‘supernatural detection’ switch, as funny as it is watching him systematically ignore what basically amounts to the Grim Reaper. He can’t keep up that charade forever!

In that last panel, I thought Nicole was tugging on Kade’s collar. (scarf, I’m sleep deprived). They’re adorable! Once again, your skills with faces and conveying emotion rival the top comics in TWC. Happy new year!

Just found this comic (thanks to someone posting the “drool” strip on Twitter), and finished an archive binge.
Great stuff. I dig most of the humor, and – I know I’m echoing many others – you’re really amazing at doing expressions (both faces, and full body poses), which’s actually quite rare.
The animation in the modem comic and the two you’ve uploaded to art sites are very, very well done too – smooth and clear. 🙂
I kind of can see why some people were comparing you to Rick Griffin and his webcomic, but in all honesty? I don’t like his style, and I enjoy yours very much.
You’re really good, Tim, and I hope you’re enjoying this at least as much as your readers do.

For what it’s worth, you have an incredible start here. I’m impressed. Your various animations in particular I’m in love with – you’re shockingly good at that, especially for someone without professional training in it. I hope you do a lot more animating, I think you have a natural talent for it and I very much enjoyed the animated ads and the one animated comic.

It seems Kade has suffered a terrible fate. I wonder how big the estate lawn is? Could they make all of Termina or just Clocktown?
The front lawn has limited space, but the back yard is kind of large and runs into a forest, so I suppose a scale model of Termina would fit. Of course Kade would put on Major’s Mask, steal Nicole’s ocarina, and hide in the lost woods.
D’aww, Nicole CAN be a nice sister! At least, after being a bad sister and causing Kade to get snowboulder’d, first.
Love that Kade is wearing Raziels’ wrap from Soul Reaver.
Also i like how we can see Nicole already regretting blaming the snowball on Kade as Harvy stomps past her.

A few months. They’ve cleaned and moved some stuff in, but being winter they haven’t done any major renovations yet.

BTW about how far is this estate from their home, their work or at least the closest city? Just wondering what could it cost to live there… OR if this is just a fun semi-video game comic that shouldn’t “go there” then just to know where to put it on a map. 😀
I spent way too much time working on back story stuff that will likely never get used. Heck, I even drew up a basic floor plan for the house.
Sav Estate is about a 40 minute drive from their parents house. It’s the old haunted house on the outskirts of a residential area. Kade is the only one who currently has a job as a code monkey and usually works remotely. Hence Nicole shares Kade’s car.
You should put the floorplan/other stuff on Deviantart for me to sift through! Its awesome seeing non canon/other stuff on your DA page.

I absolutely love how I can relate to Kade because he’s a video gamer and so am I and his name is Kade also so that just makes the comic even better for me

It’s comics like this(SAVESTATE), “My Little Pony”{G4}, “House Pets”, “Pokemon”, and many others that really just make my day. The quality of character design and personality is just awesome. Its not the cute ‘mini-horses’ of MLP that made me a “Brony”. It’s the responses, gestures, faces, and individual personalities of the characters that make me like a comic and You Sir, have what it takes to make a ‘****’ good comic strip for a while to come. The potential is great and exponential, so long as you’re having fun.
They should play some TES, learn how Old Gods are proud and vindicative… >X33

Heyo! Just a lil question/mini-critique!
I was a tad slow to realize what happened between 3 n 4. I at first thought Death just walked off w/out any violence. I had to see panel 5 to understand what happened. Was that an intentional choice? A lil “THUD!” or similar text after panel 3 would’ve made the flow of events a bit clearer for lug-nuts like me! Thanks for hearin me out!
I hope ya never run out of material or steam with this train you’ve got chuggin! An anthro comic with specifically nerdy/gamer humour is something I didn’t know I wanted but I do now for sure! Keep up the good work!
The pacing on this strip was kind of awkward. I had originally planned on having “THUD” text, but because the two panels ended up separated it just looked weird. I really should have condensed the first two panels so I could fit four panels on top.
I think someone has the mind of a certain hyrulean wearing a green tunic.
